Known mainly as a beach town, Narragansett was originally a shipbuilding, mill, and farming community. In the latter half of the 19th century it became a famed summer resort, attracting those who desired a seaside holiday.

New homeowners Michael and Kassianne have opted to restore it and work within the Historic Commission guidelines to preserve as much as they can.
With Jeff Sweenor and his crew, they have a design that will replicate the exterior architectural details such as the curved shingles and the “rising sun” patterned clapboards, preserve all the windows, improve the foundation and footings, fix and expand the deteriorating porch, and replace the rotting roof. A new addition that includes a two-car garage and mudroom on the first floor and a master suite on the second floor will match the existing structure without overpowering it.
